Submission Guidance: Update

We now ask authors to include a completed checklist with their submissions. This can be downloaded from the guidance in Preparing Your Manuscript in the Submission Guidelines. We remind authors that guidance on submissions does change over time, particularly relating to expectations that authors provide original images/blots and considerations for non-coding RNA papers, we ask that authors please ensure they read and comply with the guidance in the author guidelines which they can find here.

For any submissions which include images from gels or western blots, authors are required to include their raw image files as supplementary files during submission. The minimum acceptable amount of Western blot biological replicates per experiment is 3. Thus, 3 replicates for each western blot presented in main and supplemental should be provided. Furthermore, the Western blot replicates should be organized in such a way that so that each replicate's complete set along with the matching loading control is presented. These should be provided in a single, high quality PDF file. Please check the submission guidelines for Research Articles and Brief Reports to ensure you comply with the full guidance.

Please note instructions may vary slightly by article type. Failure to comply with this guidance could result in delays in processing manuscripts.

SCOPE OF THE JOURNAL

Cellular & Molecular Biology Letters is an international journal dedicated to the dissemination of fundamental knowledge in all areas of cellular and molecular biology, certain aspects of biochemistry, biophysics and biotechnology. Regular papers and short communications that contain new and significant information of general interest to workers in these fields are welcome. Sufficient detail must be included to enable others to repeat the work. The journal also invites timely reviews and mini reviews. Particularly welcome are papers dealing with:

  • Cell cycle and its regulation
  • Cell differentiation
  • Stem cells
  • Cell traffic and signalling
  • Gene expression regulation
  • Cellular membranes
  • Cytoskeleton
  • Molecular biotechnology
  • Cancer cell biology


We publish articles according to BMC Editorial Policy

Manuscripts are accepted for review with the understanding that no substantial portion of the study has been published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere, and that its submission for publication has been approved by all the authors and by the institution where the work was carried out. Manuscripts that do not meet the general criteria or standards for publication in Cellular & Molecular Biology Letters will be returned to the authors, without detailed review.

Present APC (Article Processing Charge) is £2390.00/$2990.00/€2590.00 for each article accepted for publication, plus VAT or local taxes where applicable.
